However, with the help of extensive organization and guidance from our German teacher Mr. Seidel, we took a close look at Goethe's drama "Faust. Part One of the Tragedy".
Our first stop was at the Goethe Museum. After a short guided tour through the life and work of the world-famous poet, we had the opportunity to visit the Goethe House immediately afterwards. Rooms furnished true to the original and mobile tour guides, who told us an exciting story about each room, illustrated Goethe's life and some of us imagined how Goethe himself had sat at this table or put his famous work "Faust" down on paper at his standing desk.
After a short lunch break, we made our way to the next part of our excursion. In the "Faust the media myth" workshop, we got to know the character Faust in more detail and analyzed how Dr. Heinrich Faust and other characters, including Mephisto and Gretchen, have been portrayed and interpreted in the media on postcards, posters and paintings over the course of time.
The end of our excursion took us to the German National Theatre, just like the previous project days on "Weimar's Light and Weimar's Shadow". There we saw a breathtaking production of "Faust. Part One of the Tragedy". The modern presentation and stage sets, mixed with the old text from Goethe's drama and the direct involvement of the audience, amazed everyone present. It is not often that a theater manages to get the entire audience to join in and sing the most famous party hits for the "Auerbach's Cellar" scene.
The show ended to rapturous applause and with it our excursion to Weimar. Completely blown away by the theater performance, we made our way back to Reinsdorf.
