Class trip to the Kriebstein Dam

The new school year started a few days ago and brings with it many unknown and exciting impressions, especially for the fifth graders. In order for the students to get to know each other better and grow together into a strong team, the 5th grade of the Gymnasium went on a class trip directly in the second week of school after the method week at the beginning of the school year.

The destination was the youth hostel Falkenhain at the Kriebstein Dam. In late summer temperatures, the girls and boys were able to try their hand at stand-up paddle boarding on the first day. The one or other fall into the wet of the dam was of course not excluded and was sometimes even not completely unintentional. The second day was an excursion to the adventure camp in Lauenhain. The journey was made by ferry across the dam. The first part of the program was a geo-caching treasure hunt, which required a sense of orientation as well as knowledge and puzzling skills when answering the quiz. In the second part in the afternoon it went again on the water, this time in the canoe. In teams of four, the canoe had to be moved forward and steered. Both in combination not an easy task. After a good two hours of canoeing, however, everyone stayed dry this time and, apart from a few wet sleeves or trouser legs from the vigorous paddling, there were happy faces overall. The day was rounded off with a campfire and stick bread. After a restful night we went back to Reinsdorf the next morning with many impressions. We would like to thank the management for providing the SIS buses for the transport there and back. Thus, it was a successful and eventful class trip in all respects.
