Leipzig Book Fair on 28.04.2023

Last Friday, we finally had the opportunity to go on a field trip to the book fair in Leipzig. After the Corona pandemic had prevented us from coming to such events for a long time, the anticipation among us 9th grade students of the Gymnasium was especially high.

When we arrived at the exhibition center, the atmosphere was already full of energy and excitement. Everywhere you could see an incredible number of people in the halls.

For me personally, however, the highlight of the book fair was not the books, but the world of cosplayers and the manga hall. As soon as I entered the hall, I was literally overwhelmed by colorful costumes inspired by well-known anime and manga characters. From Sailor Moon to Naruto and more, everything was there. Even many that I did not know at all.

The Manga Hall was a true paradise for all lovers of manga, comics and graphic novels. The shelves were filled to the top with the latest manga titles, both in German and Japanese. From classic Shōnen and Shōjo mangas to yaoi and yuri, there was something for everyone. It was amazing to see how many people were hanging out in the hall, talking about their favorite manga. In addition to the books and cosplayers, there were also a variety of readings. Authors proudly presented their works and answered questions from visitors.

Unfortunately, time passed far too quickly and before we knew it, we had to say goodbye to the book fair. But the impressions and memories will certainly stay with us for a long time.
